When We Are Closed
When the Surgery is closed, if you phone for advice or a visit your call will be diverted to NHS Direct, who will deal with your call. You may be given advice over the phone, visited at home, or asked to attend the out of hours premises.
Depending on the time of your call, you may be asked to attend any of the following:
- Frendoc at Frenchay Hospital
- Brisdoc at Bristol Royal Infirmary, Clinic 5, Level 4
- Brisdoc at Southmead Hospital, Outpatients 2
- Brisdoc at Knowle West Health Park
Bristol Primary Care Trust is responsible for commissioning out of hours services for patients.
Patients are reminded that they can also use the services of NHS Direct and the NHS Walk In Centres. NHS Direct is a 24 hour telephone service for health advice and information. Tel: 0845 46 47 Website: www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
NHS Walk In Centres are open daily at:

These are Walk in Centres and no appointment is necessary.
NHS Direct
In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call
NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
